My Run in with the Cops

   = FAIL

So, im sitting on the 3rd floor of the Library at FSU yesterday and all of a sudden i hear someone walking behind me. I turn around and it is a FSU police officer. He snaps his fingers at me and says "OUT NOW!" Then, he proceded to tell me if i saw anyone else, tell them to "get out."

So i closed down my laptop and walked out of the building..... apparently smoke or a small fire caused all of the drama.

Who taught this guy manners? A simple explanation could have resolved everything ("Sir, we need everyone to exacuate the building at this time, thankyou.")

But instead this guy is the role model for most police officers.

Family

We aren't so different you and I.
All along through the years we have butted heads. However, I discovered something tonight. I think we have broken the barrier and we can finally communicate. I can understand you, and you understand me. Our different interests have spread us apart, but our values remain steadfast. We can learn from each other, and we will; as this is only the beginning. Rocky roads are far from over, yet greener pastures await.

This post is dedicated to Sarah the wise, the traveler, the artist, the people person, the hitchhiker, and the bike rider.

Apple Launches the 3G IPhone

Today the new 3g Iphone came out and I really want it. Its way cheaper than the old one at $299/$199 for 16 gig and 8 gig storage respectively.

The new version includes High Speed Data, A GPS chip, Software 2.0 and the new App store.

Heres a commercial to make you drool.

Verizon Buys Out Alltel

Come and get your love while you still can!

Its a sad day in Wireless. Alltel has come to the end of its run. Behemoth Verizon has payed 28.1 Billion dollars to acquire Alltel and its more than 13 million customers. This means Less competition in the market and it means that all of those great things we have come to love about Alltel will soon be gone, Including the My Circle Plans.

What does this mean for Consumers? By the end of the year Verizon should have gained Regulatory approval and Alltel's customers will start receiving bills from Verizon.  One good thing is that all contracts will be voided at this point and you will be free to go to another carrier if you dont wish to stay and get price gouged.

For Nostalgic purposes I thought I would throw up one of my favorite commercials. You all know that you will miss Chad and his heckling of the other guys.

A Trip to the Car Museum

Today was the grand opening of Devoe Moore's new Antique Car Museum.

Sitting right outside the Car museum a few locals decided to park their cars and show off for free.

Pretty cool, anyways after a few minutes I made it inside and checked out the premiere collection. What a collection it was! I must have counted close to 100 Cars in there!

Ill post pictures of some of my favorites below, enjoy.

And Apparently Devoe Moore likes motorcycles as well.

Museum isnt complete without a Batmobile OR.........

PENGUIN mwahahahahah

It appears that Mr. Moore collects just about everything. the 2nd floor was full of knick knacks.

Ok, well you have a flavor for the museum So i just saved you 12 dollars :)

I Just Discovered Books are great!

School has me reading something crazy these days. I have something on the order of 15 books to read for this semester. Well, Funny thing is, Since I am being forced to read i actually sort of enjoy it.

Lemme tell you about the last couple of books I have read.

Things Fall Apart. Yes that is probably the best title for this book. Somewhere in an African Village a primitive tribe lives. But things don't work out the way they are supposed to. These people have bad luck and some choose not to follow the rules. The best part is it never gets boring. Just as you are thinking about putting your placemarker in the book and reaching for the next beer, something happens and you are glued to the pages to find out just what could be the matter. Towards the end outsiders set up shop nearby and "stuff" happens.

See i didnt spoil it for you. As the book cover proudly displays, there are 2 million copies in print. I wonder why?

And my favorite by far is The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. What could be so interesting about a few bums hooked on Buddhism? Well A lot actually. Its definitely, a wild spiritual journey about a few friends that don't call it quits until the last page turns.. This book creates some of the best visual imagery that you can imagine. While I was reading it, I could see exactly where and what they were doing.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a casual read.

Hmm, I hope the other assigned readings are as magical as the first few.

Until next time,

I'm Back

Hello Readers, Im back. I havent wrote in quite some time, but i promise to start it up again. Today was not the best day. I was working with a start up company that decided to lay me off. Reasons? none really... I think they didn't like my good ideas... Anyhow I would like for everyone to boycott Zirga.com

Their competitors are much cheaper and better established anyhow. Try Asksunday.com

Saturday at St George

Today Gear and I decided to head down to St. George late afternoon.

It was a nice day on the coast and so i decided to make the most out of it and took many pictures...

Gear brought along his new digital camera and we messed around with that as well..

Heres the evidence:

Just arriving :)

Soon after we got there, We wandered into El Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant....

Apparently El Jalisco has some good business sense, because he has the area blanketed with tasty Mexican Cuisine...

We passed a joint in Crawfordville as well.

Heres some of what we ate

mmm Fajitas

Of course, No mexican eatery is complete without a band, So El jalisco rallied the troops and he himself led the band in joyous song.

After we ate our bellies were saggin on the floor so we decided to make our way back out the the beach and walk around.

This is where my skills came in handy as I pulled down multiple snapshots of the coast for you..

Im so nice, you can sit at home on your computer and see yesterdays sunset..

King

Back to Tallahassee

Downtown Tallahassee Via Adams Street

So, I realized I just wasnt happy out in California. Their were a lot of reasons that went into the decision to come back to Florida.

1. Money- I miscalculated its super expensive to live out there, and even when i was helped it still didn't work
2. Job- it's not its all cracked up to be to work in a sales job where you have quotas to meet and sales goals.... too much pressure
3. Friends- I had some cool roomates, but they kinda kept to themselves more or less, and although it takes time to make friends in a new place I couldnt handle it.
4. School- After realizing that the job wasn't all i thought it would be, I was faced with the decision of waiting to go to school for a year before I got residency in California so i could afford it. I already had been registered for classes for the fall back at FSU and I only have about a year left before my bachelors degree. I didnt want to wait......
5. Tallahassee is not that bad, I think I just needed to get out to see whats on the other side.... It was a very expensive venture, but I would never give up the experience... Thats what life is about, you win some you lose some, but Now i never can say i didnt live in California during the summer of 07'

So....... Now that im back im applying for jobs like mad, If you know a place that has an opening let me know...... Ive hit most of the stores that i would prefer to work at, and now im going to scan the classifieds

I have a few more pictures im gonna drop on this post from out in california and some sightings on the way home..

enjoy.

First week is Complete

My first week of training is done and im tired. I really liked the training, my instructors name is Michael Smith. He is one of those awesome people. Keeps you laughing.

One thing I didnt do a good job of this week is taking pictures like I usually do. Anyhow, So every morning its a 30 minute commute to the town of Pleasanton which is in the east bay. The drive is nearly all interstate so its not to bad.

I did however get one strange occurence on camera... I was walking out to leave one day from training and I heard this loud noise and I looked over and there was a real Turkey making his way across the garden.... It scared me so bad cause this thing was huge......

Overall Im having a good time...

I did work my first day in the store as well yesterday... I enjoyed talking to customers and helping them, but there is so much information that I don't know.... Its frustrating... The computer system isnt ready for my login yet so I was slowly learning while i put in the info using other peoples accounts....

I think its going to be a good job but I cant wait until i learn the system so i can complete a sale....

Last night i slept for about 11 hours and I needed it.! 5 days full time in a new job is stressful..

anyhow Im just taking it easy today relaxing so ill be ready to go tuesday...

One thing im looking forward to is my employee lines and new phones should show up to the house on monday....

I need more than one picture so ill tag this one... This is from last week when I was out at the Shoreline park.
